I Can Work! 2

I Can Work! 1

Angela Mahoney, M.Ed. presented an outstanding Saturday Seminar on March 12th entitled: I Can Work! Hands-On Ways to Build a Strong Pre-vocational Foundation for All Young Adults. Attendees loved Angie's passion for helping students acquire the skills they need for success as they enter the work force. This charismatic speaker provided the lively audience of teachers, therapists, and parents with ideas about how to implement the practical, 5-module course she developed, entitled I Can Work: A Work Skills Curriculum for Special Needs Programs. It integrates hands-on pre-vocational training with communication skills for special education middle school and high school students, as well as for young adults transitioning to working in their community. Check out Filomena's blog and Angie's Handout/PowerPoint (PDF) for more information about this presentation. Also, please visit Angie's website and Facebook page for details about I Can Work!

Karen Conrad Weihrauch, PhD, OTR/L
